A vinyl record poking out of its sleeve, which shows a young girl with no head. The title of the album is hang lettered and takes the shape of where her head should be.

Ride the Cyclone is a musical that debuted in 2009.

A morbid subject, the musical follows the story of 6 teenagers from Uranium City, Saskatchewan. The St. Cassian School Choir attends a competition at a carnival and makes the fatal choice to ride a rollercoaster called ‘‘The Cyclone’’.

The deceased students compete with one another for a second chance at life.

One way to describe the show would be ‘‘phantasmagoric’’.
Another would be ‘‘absurd and surprisingly philosophical’’.

My design captures the mysteriousness and oddness of the show. In addition to a redesigned album cover, I created some collateral that would be used for a local community theater production (including a playbill and promotional signage).
